Resiliency in a Time of Crisis

2021 Annual Report

Because of you, our neighbors have food, dignity and hope during the ongoing hunger crisis.
Together, we can end hunger and its root causes.

Welcome and Thank You!

Welcome to the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s fiscal year 2020-2021 annual report. More than a year into the pandemic, our neighbors across Cook County are still facing an increased risk of hunger. Thanks to you, our network distributed more meals than ever before. But serving our community is more than just the number of meals we provide. It’s about addressing the root causes of hunger and building an emergency food landscape that is equitable for all. Because of supporters like you, we’ve also been able to invest in communities disproportionately affected by food insecurity, poverty and decades of disinvestment.

Please explore the stories of impact and hope your support made possible during this historic year. The effects of the pandemic will linger for months, and in some cases years, to come. But because of people like you, we will emerge as a stronger and more equitable Chicago. On behalf of all of us at the Food Depository and all the people we serve, thank you.
